Our Stories
Mr. Bojangles is our Boxer Baby. He's the handsome guy on the
left. Bo turned four years old on November 24. As the first Boxer in our
family, he has certainly taught us a lot. First of all, we learned early on
that Boxers really do box! Those front paws are fast, too!!!! He has a
high energy level and thinks playing is the most important part of life.
He's just like a person.... when I get on the phone he comes over and
starts to talk because he wants all the attention. Mr. Bojangles has
phenomenal hearing and knows everything that is going on around him.
Although he is quite the clown, he has determined that his job is to alert
the family if anybody or anything enters our area... whether it is a bird
landing on the deck or a motorcyclist driving behind our car. Our
fun-loving buddy boy is happiest when he is giving kisses or figuring out
how much of the bed he can hog when you're trying to go to sleep. He's
quite the ham at the bank, too... head out and looking at the teller until he
gets his biscuit. Oh yeah, his other favorite moments are when he can
find the loudest squeaky toy around and squeak it for hours on end. I'm
thinking of investing in ear plugs.
Cheyenne is our beautiful Golden Retriever. She will be 8 on
January 28. Chey is a typical Golden Retriever. Everything she does is
all about making us happy. She will stand on her back legs to give hugs,
she will travel with you from room to room. You can talk to her the same
as talking to another person and she will do whatever you want her to do.
Golden Retrievers are incredible family dogs and her loyalty is definitely
obvious. Now that she's almost 8, playing is limited. She really doesn't
care about playing tug of war. She prefers to lay around and have her
belly scratched. If you really want to see her get excited, just as her if she
"wants to go for a ride." At that point, there's no stopping her. (I think she
saves all her energy for that moment!) This girl is amazing, and if she
feels that she's contributing to our happiness, she feels that she's done
her job. She sure is a big part of the family.
Gizmo is the stunning guy (and he sure knows it!), who, by the way,
doesn't know he's a cat. Gizmo turned 6 years old on June 14. Let me
tell you. It is true.. Cats are very independent and can take care of
themselves. Gizmo is great in that department. He will, however, come
to you the minute he hears you call his name -- unlike many cats, and,
yes, he does talk the whole time he's prancing over. If he hears you ask ,
"Do you want a cookie", he will appear from any part of the house. Gizmo
enjoys playing with Bo.. He is forever trying to see if he can outfox him.
Sometimes you will see them sleeping next to each other. Sometimes
you will see them boxing and chasing each other in the house. I'm
waiting to see Mr. Bojangles win, but it isn't looking too promising. When
Gizmo has Bo all revved up, he loops around the house and flies through
his "Kitty Door" that lets him into the basement. Poor Bo.. At this point, all
he can fit through the door is his head. And, as for Gizmo, he sits on the
landing a few steps away and just looks. I wonder what he is thinking
besides - "Silly dog. I beat you again!!!!"
Tyco is the new pup on the block! Here we go again!!!! Once you have
a Boxer in your house, your heart is stolen.... so it was time to bring a
new baby in to play with Bo! Tyco was born August 10, 2008 so you can
imagine what is happening at our house! Foolish boy thinks he's the 'big
guy" in town... and he and Mr. B play up a storm. He plays the same cat
games that Bo plays and the cat can outfox both of them. He is
amazingly beautiful and full of so much fun. Tyco is slightly different than
Bo though... he thinks it is an amazing task to shred newspapers, steal
shoes and bark at the other furkids in the house until he gets his way.
As a true boxer, this little guy can jump straight up almost 5 feet in the air
already and his keen sense of smell helps him find food no matter
where you are. Of course he is spoiled, but he deserves it. We'll update
you with photos as we go forward. Can't you just eat him up!

Cousin Cheese is so grown up already. And as much as we
loved her when she became part of the family, we love her even more
now. This "bullie" is searching for a mate. She is anxious to have a
litter of puppies... know anybody with an outstanding male who would
like to meet her? Isn't she just the cutest Bull Terrier!!!! Cheese
lives about an hour away from us, but when she is around, we sure
do LOVE to play with her. I will tell you.. she is definitely a Bully... ask
her immediate family what that means. Cheese stayed with us while
her human family went on vacation this summer... she managed to
push people out of bed and commanded all the attention when we
took her for a drive. She is a unique looking dog with an amazing
personality. Cheese.... also known as Cheese Head & Block of
Cheese... we are glad you are part of the family!
